Kuopio Dance Festival 2010

The 41st Kuopio Dance Festival will take the audiences on a journey from the Nordic area to China and Argentina, from classical ballet to contemporary dance and tango.

The majority of this summer´s performers, such as Shanghai Ballet, Julio Bocca´s Ballet Argentino and the celebrated Chinese Jin Xing Dance Theatre, are visiting Finland for the first time.

Exhibition Tanssi/Dans in Västerås

Tanssi/Dans is an exhibition presenting Finnish photographs and video works, dealing with the theme of dance and performance. The exhibition opens in the Artmuseum of Västerås, Sweden on Saturday, January 23.

The exhibition features artists Elina Brotherus, Hanna Brotherus, Reijo Kela and Aurora Reinhard.

Dance Strategy 2010 - 2020 completed

The National Council for Dance in Finland has prepared a dance strategy up to 2020. The strategy proposes a series of measures to be taken to improve the operating conditions of dance art in the Finnish society.

CINARS seminar for Finnish producers

Dance Info Finland organizes in collaboration with CINARS a training seminar for Finnish producers and managers. The seminar is a part of the TAIVEX arts exports training programme.

The training seminar Stakes, ingredients and strategies for international touring is held in Helsinki on January 25-29, 2010. The content of the programme is provided by CINARS (International Exchange for the Performing Arts).

Changes in the staff of Dance Info Finland

The new year 2010 brings a few changes to the staff of Dance Info Finland.

International affairs' manager Pirjetta Mulari has returned from maternity leave. Communications officer Piia Ahonen is also back from her leave of absence.
