Finnish Indie Energy at AV Festival
The Finnish indie bands, Shogun Kunitoki and Kiila, will be performing live tonight with leading new UK folk artist Alasdair Roberts, in an evening of alternative folk, pop and post-rock at the Sage Gateshead as part of the biennial AV Festival. The festival, which is one of Newcastle's flagship festivals, is taking place on 5-14 March 2010. Read more |

Symposium: ‘Considering the work of Eija-Liisa Ahtila´
In connection to the current Eija-Liisa Ahtila exhibition, Parasol unit is hosting a symposium titled ‘Considering the Work of Eija-Liisa Ahtila' on Saturday 13th March 2-5 pm, exploring the implications of the work of artist. Speakers include Steven Bode, Maeve Connelly, Taru Elfving and Isaac Julien. The symposium will be moderated by Ziba Ardalan de Weck, Director of Parasol unit and Curator of the exhibition. Read more
