Behind the Scenes
Daniel Lioneye released its second album "Vol. II" this spring. Daniel who?! Daniel Lioneye is a not-so-serious side project and alias of HIM guitarist Mikko "Linde" Lindström. The band debuted as a hard rock act on its first album "King of Rock 'n' Roll", and the title track was picked up by Bam Margera, a huge HIM fan, as a theme song of his popular Viva la Bam TV program. Linde was in charge of the vocal and guitar duties, while his HIM band mates Mikko "Mige" Paananen played bass and Ville Valo pounded on the drums. On "Vol. II" the line-up is completely different: Linde on vocals and guitar, Janne "Emerson Burton" Puurtinen (HIM) on keyboards and Bolton (Enochian Crescent) on drums. The music style has also changed dramatically: from tongue-in-cheek rock to avantgarde black metal.
