Sounds of Helsinki at St. Petersburg
The Russian city of St. Petersburg will be resounding with Finnish music in October. The city of Helsinki will arrange a special Helsinki event in St. Petersburg, with live events, DJ music and many kinds of other cultural activities.
The week of main events will start on Tuesday 11 October with the DJ group We Love Helsinki playing nostalgic Finnish songs. On 12 October, DJ group Boom Shakalanka will play dance music from different parts of the world. Klub Tampere on 13 October will present Idiomatic, a rock band hailing from Tampere, and a DJ trio titled Hang the DJ.
More live performers will be seen on 14-15 October. Jimi Tenor, Dusha Pitera and Jaakko & Jay will come straight from Moscow, from Fimic's export event News from Helsinki, to play to the people of St. Peterburg.
A special evening with Finnish and Russian music will be seen already on 8 October, as the Finnish-Russian Tusovka festival goes to Griboyedov, St. Petersburg. The programme includes Laineen Kasperi & Palava Kaupunki and Tundramatiks from Finland, and the evening will be hosted by famed local group Skazy Lesa.
