The fifth event in the New Finnish Design event series, SCENARIOS - A Story about what Happened in the Future, was held in the Meatpacking District in Manhattan on May 12-17 during New York Design Week.
The 6-day-long event offered New Yorkers the possibility to find out about Finnish designers and manufacturers, as well as about the latest functional design items. The workshop area formed the lively core of the event space. On top of the student workshop the programming included the Design SCENARIOS Pecha Kucha with performances on Friday night by 14 brilliant American and Finnish speakers, a panel discussion on urban design on Monday morning, two World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 visual identity workshops on Saturday and Monday, and two exhibition tours during the weekend.
Several magazines, newspapers and design blogs (e.g. New York Times, Los Angeles Times and Core77) included New Finnish Design SCENARIOS in their Design Week coverage.
